The board of KIVI Region North-West has the pleasure of inviting you to attend a company visit to the Waternet drinking water purification plant in Vogelenzang.

Introduction
Waternet is the only water company in the Netherlands that takes care of the entire water cycle: purifying wastewater, making drinking water and - on behalf of Waterschap Amstel, Gooi and Vecht - keeping surface water at the right level and clean.
Drinking water is supplied in Heemstede and in Amsterdam and the surrounding area: east of the Amstel, the water comes from the Bethunepolder and is purified in the Waterleidingplas and the purification plant in Weesperkarspel. West of the Amstel, the water comes from the Lekkanaal near Nieuwegein and is purified in the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes and the Leiduin purification plant in Vogelenzang.

Programme

  • From 12:45 hrs: reception at visitor centre De Oranjekom - parking in visitor car park, parking/exit ticket will be provided
  • 13:00: Explanation about Waternet drinking water process and installation
  • Move to Leiduin purification site (5 minutes by car)
  • Walk and explanation on the purification site
  • Closing with a drink
  • Around 15:30: end of visit
