The presentation was given by Ir Joop Barwegen. Settling disputes between companies, or Principal and Contractor, is a regular occurrence, but not everyone comes into contact with it. Barwegen has acted as Arbitrator for the Stichting Raad Arbitrage voor Metaalnijverheid en Handel for many years. He was able to explain in an engaging manner what Arbitration is, when arbitration will take place, who will do it and the procedure to be followed. Any arbitration is agreed upon as early as the conclusion of a contract. All this then leads to an award that is binding on both parties and no appeal is possible .For more information see : www.sramh.nl It was a lively talk and many questions were asked. As usual, the North Holland Region will start the season with a lecture at the Cruquius Tea House.

Prior to the lecture, you are invited for an apéritif and lunch from 12.00.

After lunch, region board member Joop Barwegen will introduce you to Arbitration: the settlement of disputes between two companies, or in other words between Client and Contractor. Not everyone has ever come into contact with Arbitration, experience shows, so we thought it would be a good idea to hear from Joop's experiences.
