A few years ago, Sitos was acquired by the global group CWT (Connecting World Trade). CWT has an annual turnover of Euro 3 billion. It is headquartered in Singapore.
CWT Amsterdam is a Veem and is limited to storage, logistics and quality control. CWT does not own the goods. The goods are mainly cocoa and further include coffee, tea, cotton and grains. The cocoa is brought in 65 kg bags, and bulk in containers and dumped loose in ships. The largest suppliers are Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. Each year, CWT- Amsterdam handles 600 000 tonnes of cocoa beans, making it the largest in the world. The value of a tonne of cocoa beans is about Euro 2 200. The Sitos site is 15 ha large, is located by water and has a storage capacity of 110 000 m3,The excursion was fully booked with 30 participants. Among them were many new/young faces from the food industry.

The Amsterdam port region is the largest cocoa port in the world, in which
SITOS is a major player, trading not only in cocoa but also in coffee and nuts. Among other things, it handles storage, transport and distribution. Goods arrive in bulk and containers.
Some of the cocoa beans are melted into cocoa butter and cocoa liquor. This product is supplied to cocoa factories in Amsterdam, Zaandam and elsewhere in Europe.
SITOS' head office is in Amsterdam and there are branch offices in Antwerp, London, Ghana and Togo, among others
