Visit to the KNAW
The visit began with a welcoming reception with a sandwich lunch. We were then given an introduction about the KNAW by Drs. F.J.G.van de Linde (Head of Policy Advice: Science & Knowledge). Van de Linde continued with an introduction about the KNAW's policy advice, including to the Dutch ministers. Here, he addressed the KNAW's Policy Goals 2015. This produced an instructive discussion. This was partly due to the inspiring manner of his presentation with a content that commanded admiration from all.
There was no mistaking that the KNAW members are proud of this. The visit ended with a guided tour of the Trippenhuis by Mr S. Dekkers (Head of Facilities Services and also Curator of The Trippenhuis). It is a beautiful building with a lot of history. Especially that this building is the forerunner of the current Rijksmuseum was remarkable. For instance, the painting with the Night Watch had a place here .
It was a special visit and 29 people participated.

KIVI Region North Holland is pleased to invite you to participate in a visit to the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW).
We will be welcomed there with coffee/tea and a sandwich lunch, followed by an introduction about the KNAW. Following this, we will be given a guided tour of the Trippenhuis led by Mr S.Dekkers (Head of Facilities Services and also Conservator of The Trippenhuis). Drs. F.J.G. van de Linde (Head of Policy Advice : Science & Knowledge) will then give an introduction to the KNAW's policy advice to Dutch members of government. In doing so, based on the KNAW's Policy Goals 2015, he will pay extra attention to the contribution to the Netherlands' return to the top five knowledge economies.
