Visit the ECN wind model test site together with KIVI region Alkmaar!
The Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) has a number of 'mini' wind turbines at the Wind Turbine Test Farm in Wieringermeer. This 'scale park' of small wind turbines with a rotor diameter of 7.6 m is used to study how turbines in large offshore wind farms interact. The reduced wind speed and altered wind structure (wake) behind a wind turbine cannot be properly calculated with current techniques. Also, it is not well possible to test it in wind tunnels.
KIVI region Alkmaar is organising a visit to this test farm.
