Active Noise and Vibration Control
Description
We will start the evening with a short general membership meeting of KIVI NIRIA Region East. Afterwards, Dr Arthur Berkhoff will give a presentation on 'Active Noise and Vibration Control'.
Almost everyone has to deal with it at one time or another: Unwanted mechanical vibrations and/or annoying noise production. Both can be incredibly distracting, but are sometimes really unavoidable. Minimising the source and applying damping is not always sufficient. A new and promising approach is to apply active vibration reduction systems.
In a presentation lasting about 45 minutes, Arthur Berkhoff will give an introduction to the design and application of Active Noise and Vibration Control systems. This will review a number of projects where it is now being applied.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to have a chat over a drink.
