ALMA telescope in Chile

Dear Members,
The board invites you and your partner to a lecture by Joost Adema,
Joost Adema (55) is an astronomer, is affiliated to the RUG/NOVA and knows an awful lot about the ALMA telescope in Chile and its application possibilities. The lecture he will give us is structured as follows:
1. A brief historical explanation of the discovery of Infra-Red radiation.
2. How we got into sub-mm radiation in Groningen via far-Infrared.
3. Why Sub-mm radiation is so interesting.
4. Explanation of the important recent Sub-mm detector HIFI on the Herschell satellite.
