The excursion will focus in particular on the applications of power electronics and drive technology on board ships.
Eekels Elektrotechniek is the specialist in the field of electro-technical installations, process and production automation, panel building and "custom-made products" in the field of power electronics.

An example of where Eekels is involved:
Icon Yacht construction number 3 is a 62-metre yacht based on the standard platform developed by Icon Yachts for this purpose. The engine room, drive train, generators and electrical installation are standard. The construction time is only fourteen months.
The yacht is a 4-deck vessel. Eekels provided the design and construction of the entire electrical installation and power controls.

Components are generated by a configuration programme developed by Eekels. This working method allows every wish of the owner and designer.
The Icon Yacht is used worldwide.

This excursion was previously planned in November last year. Due to circumstances, it did not go ahead. Priority will be given to members who had signed up at that time.
