Around 60% of the Dutch economy's energy consumption comes from industrial estates. A logical place to focus the energy transition, right? However logical it may be, it is by no means simple. Different companies, different energy needs, different ownership, different technological developments and all that is not exactly standing still ..

At the same time, an industrial area is a nice clear "area", in which a certain energy need exists and for which different sources can be used, each with its own opportunities and limitations. Savings, generation, storage, distribution and transformation are all possibilities here, which can be taken up individually and/or collectively. Combinations of all technologies then offer additional added values, making the sum difficult again....

Curious about the current state of the art? And examples of the ways it is currently being addressed?
