Description

Since the Paris Motor Show in 2008, electric cars have received a lot of attention. VPRO's Tegenlicht showed that the time is ripe for the electric car, but also that it will mean a revolution in the existing car industry. (see www.uitzendinggemist.nl)

To provide mobile devices with sufficient power, storage of lots of energy is necessary. The Li-ion battery offers good prospects in this area and is already widely used in laptops and mobile phones. Traction (bicycle, car) requires even more energy; this too can be provided by Li-ion batteries, but new developments are already in the pipeline. Where is the limit of electricity storage?

Ruud Hunik, expert on battery technology, will give a fascinating presentation on this topic. Not only about batteries, but also about the consequences; scarcity of raw materials, the environment, costs for users, required infrastructure and driving itself. And what this means for the automotive industry, from new selling points to adapted training for staff.

Afterwards, there will be drinks.
