Groningen Seaports
Description
Exclusively for its business contacts, Groningen Seaports makes the excursion programme 'Salt at the Broek' available. This programme provides the opportunity for a comprehensive introduction to Groningen Seaports, some of which can be experienced in a spectacular way.
The four-hour programme includes various components such as a presentation about Groningen Seaports and a virtual tour of the industrial port areas. The latter part uses a three-dimensional presentation technique. A bus tour is also part of the excursion and a real experience of the ports is created by means of a spectacular sailing trip.
Please note that this sailing trip is not suitable for elderly people and people with health problems (back and heart problems).
The whole programme ends with drinks and herring
The programme starts at 13:00 from our Infocentre Nijlicht in Eemshaven. You will be welcomed with a cup of coffee or tea, after which the programme will begin.
3D presentation
This virtual sightseeing flight shows the ports and surrounding industrial areas of Delfzijl and Eemshaven from a three-dimensional perspective. A special application developed by the Donald Smit Centre for Information Technology, part of the University of Groningen, was created for this purpose. A large aerial photo of the province of Groningen serves as the basis and then all the buildings and objects present in the area were modelled to show the most real picture of current and future situations.
Spectacular sailing trip
A sailing trip with open power boats is also part of the programme. A spectacular cruise through the various harbour basins and even offshore will provide you with an unforgettable adventure.
Cosy closing
Groningen Seaports has sustainability high on its agenda. That is why the programme ends with a responsible snack in the form of a herring. This is served with an accompanying corn wine.
