Hotlo, Industrial heritage
Description
Hotlo: Industrial heritage as a driving force for innovation.
On Tuesday 11 December, Wil Kuipers, vice-chairman of the SOS-HOTLO foundation, will give a lecture on this project with international allure, in which a monumental ship's diesel, built by Stork in the 50s/60s, becomes the driving force for innovation in Twente.
It was still in operation until 22 June 2012. The SOS-HOTLO foundation wants to bring this monument of industrial heritage back to Twente.
Since mid-2008, the initiative group has been hard at work saving the engine from demolition and giving it a place in Hengelo, the place where it was built in 1962.
