Invitation to KIVI Event:

Digital Twins in the Energy Transition. Bridging Realities: Sustainable Geospatial Solutions for City Digital Twins

Both lectures are in English!

Energy transition is a complex challenge, bringing together decentralisation, sustainability, electrification and digitisation. Digital Twins offer the key to make this complexity manageable, by providing insights and facilitating informed decisions. In the Netherlands, energy communities are working together to realise this task.

Almelo Energy, an energy community using European grants, is working with the University of Twente to make the small village of Aadorp more sustainable and gain valuable knowledge for energy transition.

We would like to invite you to a KIVI event on 25 June from 16:00 to 19:00 at the University of Twente, where we will discuss the role of Digital Twins in this process.

Programme:

  • 15.45: Walk-in with coffee/tea
  • 16.00 -16.15: Introduction EU programme and Digital Twins in Aadorp
Bram Reinders, co-founder of Almelo Energie, will briefly explain the European programme and the deployment of Digital Twins in Aadorp.
  • 16.15-16.30: Demonstration of Digital Twins by ESRI
ESRI, a world leader in helping organisations discover the power of their data, will give a short demonstration of Digital Twin technologies.
  • 16.30-17.30: Introductions by Dr Mila Koeva and Dr Pirouz Nourian
Dr Koeva and Dr Nourian from the University of Twente will share their contribution to the Digital Twin project for Aadorp. They work together in the Digital Twin Geohub at the University of Twente, a knowledge centre for digital cities.
    • Dr Mila Koeva focuses on 3D modelling and smart urban planning for sustainability.
    • Dr Pirouz Nourian works on integrating sensors and building information into digital models so that this data can be used in real-time. He promotes the use of Digital Twins to support strategic decision-making in urban and spatial planning
  • 17.30-19.00: Networking with drinks & snacks

Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about how Digital Twins contribute to the energy transition and how Aadorp is becoming an example for other communities!

Registration is free, but places are limited.

We hope to see you on 25 June!
