KIVI Technology do-day
KIVI Techniekdoemiddag: Collaborate with an Engineer!
Explore the interactive Techniekmuseum and work together with an engineer on various assignments during the KIVI Techniekdoemiddag.
On Saturday, October 5, KIVI Region East, in cooperation with Oyfo Techniekmuseum again the KIVI this day for children aged 4 to 12. In groups and supervised by KIVI members, the children will work on different pieces of work. Afterwards, you can find out all about steam engines and smartphones in the museum. About robots and art. About energy sources and our planet. In short, everything about humans and technology.
The children are divided by age and make the following workpieces:
Group 1-2: Car with elastic drive
All wooden parts are already cut to size, the children put it together. They will glue, assemble and can paint the car. They can test how fast the car drives on a real track.

Group 3-4: Boat with elastic drive
The children assemble the parts of a wooden boat and make sure it can move forward using elastic drive. They saw, glue and assemble. Of course, a test in water is not to be missed!

Group 5-6: Dancing giraffe
As soon as the simple circuit is closed, the giraffe dances back and forth uncontrollably due to the imbalance of the wooden wheel. It needs to be marked off, drilled, bent and soldered.

Group 7-8: Wind generator
This wind generator explains in a simple way how wind energy generates electricity. The children will drill, saw, cut, sand/file, glue and assemble. A challenging job!

Participation costs €4.50 for children, including materials, a drink and a tour of the museum. One adult per child has free entry to the museum.
Registration of the child(ren) is possible until 4 October via the KIVI website, stating name, first name and group. Entry only with confirmation of participation. Full is full!
Parents do not need to register via the website.
We also call on KIVI members to assist the children and convey their passion for engineering. Would you like to help? Then contact elfride.dijkstra@kivi.nl for more information.
