The Technology Circle Twente (TKT) is an active network of about 180 high-tech and knowledge-intensive companies in Twente with the aim of cooperating and exchanging information. Its members are mostly young technical companies that focus on new developments, while also acting as a knowledge supplier as a link between the University of Twente and the business community. This includes Lightmotif, which will host this evening.
Lightmotif specialises in laser material processing at the micro- and nanoscale. By using new lasers with ultra-short pulses, in principle all materials can be machined with extreme precision. Besides laser milling, cutting and drilling, this technology also allows material surfaces to be machined in special ways. This makes it possible to provide the outside of products with special functional properties.
Meanwhile, Lightmotif has reached the stage where, in addition to research into obtaining these special properties, they can also carry out production on behalf of third parties. For companies that prefer to carry out this processing in-house, production equipment can also be developed on order. This makes a world of fascinating new possibilities available for application in the market.
