Visit to SINGRAVEN's FIXING TURBINE
Successful East Region season opener with a visit to the SINGRAVEN'S POWER TURBINE!
Twente is taking a slightly different approach to energy transition than you might be used to: not with solar panels or wind turbines, but through hydropower.
In 2021, the compact auger-powered hydropower plant was put into operation at Landgoed Singraven. It draws its energy from river Dinkel and provides green power. The screw turbine consists of a fish-friendly Archimedes screw to which a generator is connected. The plant can supply some 280 MWh on an annual basis, which is enough to power 80 households.
We visit this unique piece of Twente technology, as well as the old Singraven watermill. A nice contrast between old and new technology. All this will be accompanied by text and explanation.
The overall programme is as follows:
16:00 Entry with coffee and tea
16:30 Guided tours and explanation of the screw turbine and old water mill
17:30 Afterglow with a snack and drink.
If there is sufficient interest, transport from Enschede to and from the watermill can be arranged.
Maximum of 50 participants.
