Water management in Afghanistan
Description
Every day, gloomy reports reach us about what is going wrong in Afghanistan. This was reason for Hans Husselman, member of KIVI NIRIA Region East and working there for more than 5 years, to join us to share his positive experiences. In his presentation, Hans will take us back to life in a war zone, where all infrastructure related to water supply (drinking water and irrigation) has been destroyed in 30 years. Hans has spent 5 years advising the Ministry of Water & Energy in reconstruction and renewal. This has resulted in new developments that are considered by both the Afghan government and the end user as their own plans.
This will be followed by a tour of the WOT site. Here you can see a wide variety of demonstration objects developed and realised by the WOT, especially for application in less developed countries, using locally available materials and techniques.
