Water technology, Steel, Corrosion.
Description
This activity will be held at "Wateralliance": a unique partnership of public and private companies, government agencies and knowledge institutes involved in water technology in the Netherlands.
Two lectures will be held by:
1. Centre of Expertise Water Technology.
2. Titan Projects BV Sneek.
Ad 1.
CEW is the centre for knowledge and innovation in applied research in the water sector. The centre's primary objective is to develop knowledge in the increasing volume of talent for the international water sector and to shorten the process of adding value for the innovating industry. In doing so, it supports its customers by
- introducing new technologies for water,
- solving water-related manufacturing problems,
- accelerating the development of water-related technologies.
Its proposals are based on 3 pillars:
1. Infrastructure: includes clean water, wastewater and industrial water laboratories, testing facilities also supported by laboratories, demo sites where equipment can be tested on a real-life scale for initiating customers.
2. Talents: Research is conducted by students because of their studies, supported by professors, lecturers, teachers, experienced people from the field, resulting in a resource where, depending on the topic, the right team can be selected to support the development of the requested solution.
3. Data collection: A comprehensive knowledge database is the result of combining the experience of the working field, resulting from basic and applied research and technology policy, libraries. And to implement it as a support in rapid development towards the required solution.
Customers are (international) water technology development companies and (international) manufacturing companies, facing a water-related challenge.
They have one priority: to accelerate their development in the field of water technology.
Titan Projects BV will give a short company presentation, partly in view of their programme for internships for (HBO) students (mechanical engineering).
Furthermore, it will elaborate on its applied techniques for steel corrosion in wetlands. For example:
- applications and processing of
nickel alloys
- stainless steel in general and duplex in particular
- special stainless steels and their various applications
- duplex a material with a great future
- application and processing of titanium alloys.
In addition to both these lectures, a short tour of the Water Application Centre will take place.
18:45: Welcome and reception with coffee and tea at Wateralliance (Red Room in Business & Science Centre Joh. de Doperkerk) .
19:00 - 19:50: Presentation Centre of Expertise Water Technology
19:50 - 20:40: Presentation Titan projects BV.
20:40 - 20:50: Transfer to Water Application Centre
20:50 - 21:30: Guided tour of the Water Application Centre
21:30 - 22:00: Closing of programme (with possible snack and drink)
