On Thursday 22 June, the third TransFuture Festival will take place at EnTranCe, the energy testing ground of Hanze University Groningen and Energy Academy Europe. The TransFuture Festival is open free of charge to anyone interested in the latest developments and innovations in sustainable energy.

During the festival, partners such as the Municipality of Groningen, Energy Academy Europe, BuildinG and Hanzehogeschool Groningen will show which sustainable (technological) innovations are being developed in the Northern Netherlands. Some parts of the programme include:

  • Opening House of Tomorrow
A place where residents can get acquainted with aids that allow them to continue living at home for longer. Companies, researchers and students work there on new innovative solutions.
  • Final symposium energy transition accelerators
Third- and fourth-year students who have worked on energy transition projects over the past six months present their results. They designed solutions for sustainable mobility, sustainable building, smart energy systems and Sustainable Ameland, among others.
  • Energy debate: The future of the Energy Agreement
Experts say the Netherlands is not doing enough to comply with the Paris Climate Agreement. Even though there is a Dutch Energy Agreement. What measures should the Netherlands take to do comply with the Paris Agreement?
  • Sustainable 2035
The municipality of Groningen is taking stock of Energy Neutral 2035. In this programme, the municipality works with a large number of partners on energy issues for citizens, sustainable mobility, heat from the ground and environmentally friendly building. During the festival, results will be presented and new partners introduced.
  • Green Gas BBQ
Besides the substantive programme, the TransFuture Festival is a real festival, with good food, drinks and music. Fixed part of the festival is the GroenGas BBQ, of course on sustainably generated energy, as well as all energy used at the festival.
