About Region South

Powerful connection between technology and networks

The industrial expansion in the southern Netherlands after the Second World War calls for the promotion of mutual contacts among engineers working there. on 21 September 1976, KIVI Regio Zuid was founded. In 1993, Region South moves to close cooperation with the regional KIVI Departments of Electrical Engineering South, Business Administration South, the regional Young Members Division (AJL-South) and the NIRIA Region Eindhoven.

In the period 2004-2008, the former NIRIA Regions Tilburg and 's Hertogenbosch, the Commercial Engineering Department and the regional Construction & Hydraulic Engineering South Department also joined this cooperation. The Construction Department joined in 2015. The cooperation now consists of 14 departments.


Size

KIVI Region South currently stretches from Bergen op Zoom to Venlo and from Zaltbommel to the Belgian border. About 2,000 KIVI members live in the region. KIVI Region South has around 900 members.


Objectives

  • Formation of multidisciplinary networks of technical professionals.
  • Building bridges between technical higher education, regional industry and KIVI's trade departments.
  • Improving KIVI's support to its members.

Region South targets current members, from students and young professionals to professionals, as well as potential members.
