Jury wanted: First Lego League
Description
Every year, Avans Hogescholen holds a regional final of the First Lego League. This is a competition in which some 200 young people from upper primary schools and lower secondary schools are challenged to investigate the social role of engineering and technology on the basis of various assignments.
This competition consists of two main elements:
- programmed Lego robots drive down a track
- the pupils have to try to solve a social problem with technology (research & design)
Avans and primary schools are desperate for enthusiastic engineers who can make pupils enthusiastic about engineering. The First Lego League offers such an opportunity:
for this competition, Avans is looking for jury members from KIVI NIRIA.
As a jury member, you will of course be expected to assess the performances of the youngsters with your fellow jury members. In addition, the day will provide an opportunity to interest the participants and further present young people in technology and perhaps come up with ideas with which to support this annual event from our association.
