Techcafé | Optomechatronics: design and control.
This is the Techcafé
The Techcafé is the central meeting place for professionals in the high-tech and manufacturing industries. Whether you’re an engineer, designer, entrepreneur or student, our Techcafé offers you the chance to network, exchange ideas and learn more about the latest developments in the industry. Each event focuses on a single main theme. During the talk show, experts share their knowledge to inspire and encourage the development and implementation of new ideas within organisations.
The Techcafé is organised by DSPE, Brainport Industries and Mikrocentrum.
Theme for the 10 September edition: Optomechatronics
Optomechatronics is an interdisciplinary field that combines optics, mechatronics, electronics, control engineering and software to design and control highly accurate systems. It is now one of the key technological fields underpinning advanced high-tech industries.
Modern technology demands ever-greater precision, speed and reliability. Optomechatronics makes it possible to:
- Measure positions with accuracies down to the nanometre scale.
- Automatically correct systems via feedback control.
- Ensure that optical instruments operate stably and accurately.
- Enable production processes for chips, medical equipment and scientific instruments.
- Without optomechatronics, many modern products, such as advanced chips, high-performance microscopes and precision lasers, would not exist.
