Description

!IN RESPECT OF NOT (yet) VISITING THE LOCATION, THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE POSTPONED TO THE END OF JUNE 2015 (a concrete date will follow as soon as possible)

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is leaving the old building
"Potentiaal", which dates back to the 1960s, and is moving in the
winter of 2014 together with the Faculty of Physics to
new building on the site where the Faculty of
Physics used to be located.
The new building was designed by Architectuurstudio
Herman Hertzberger in Amsterdam and - spread over
eleven storeys and a basement - includes
offices, teaching rooms, labs and laboratories.
The total gross floor area is 26,000 m2,
considerably less than what the faculties used to have at
their disposal.
The new building will be compact and sustainable, with plenty of
light and open spaces, and will be intensively used.

The tour will focus on the technical aspects of the new building, on the laboratories and also on how the new building implies a different way of working.
