About Festival of Disruption
Sustainability - Eindhoven Engine's Festival of Disruption gave visitors a taste of the technologies that will disrupt the world.
Background
Disruptions involve changing the traditional way an industry or market works through new methods or technology. The invention of the wheel, the industrial revolution and the internet all fall into the category of disruptions, or 'dislocations' in better Dutch. After such a moment, the status quo changes somehow, for better or worse. As humanity continues to grow, what are the disruptions that will rewrite history?
The second edition of the Festival of Disruption tried to answer this question. The event, organised by Eindhoven Engine - the innovation accelerator founded by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Fontys University of Applied Sciences and research institute TNO - showcased a wide range of technologies. Projects developed within the accelerator and the universities were displayed throughout the festival.
Keynotes, workshops and pitches took place in the halls of the Disruptor building on the TU/e campus. Visitors could learn more about technologies that will disrupt energy, smart mobility and healthcare. With climate change imminent, new disruptions are needed, the audience was told.
