Airpack Zierikzee
Description
In October, we are guests of Airpack in Zierikzee. Airpack is a unique company in Zeeland's manufacturing industry.
The company specialises in designing and making various complete installations related to air treatment. These include complete compressor, dryer and nitrogen generators.
The company was founded in 1978 by Mr Piet Warnar and is still managed by the Warnar family. Airpack originally started in a small historic office in the old centre of Zierikzee. The company has since grown into a substantial business with a 4,360 m2 factory hall and a 1,500 m2 assembly hall on the Zierik-zee industrial estate.
Complete installations are designed and built in-house to customer specifications. The engineering department is therefore an important link in the process. After approval of the design, production starts and the installations are assembled in the form of skids in the assembly hall.
After test runs and acceptance by the customer, the skids that make up the installations are transported to the customer's site. On-site assembly and commissioning is also supervised from Zierikzee.
Airpack's working method enables significant savings on total production and assembly costs.
Another important department is the maintenance department, which helps customers all over the world to maintain the installations.
Because the work is highly specialised, the mechanics are trained in-house and receive regular refresher training.
The company is constantly looking for well-trained staff to be further trained in-house for this type of work.
