Amels (Flushing)
Description
In November, we will be our guests at the largest yacht builder in Zeeland, namely Amels in Vlissingen. Amels is based at the former Royal Schelde shipyard in the centre of Vlissingen.
Amels represents the world's top superyacht builder.
Amels has three divisions: Custom Building, Limited Editions and Refit. Within Custom Building, yachts are built entirely according to the wishes and design of the client. With the successful Limited Editions division, Amels launched a unique concept in this segment of yacht building in 2004. Small series of relatively large top-quality yachts that can be individually adapted in various aspects, such as the interior. Refit is the division where yachts undergo complete modernisation, such as a new interior, or even the extension of a complete yacht.
Amels develops and builds yachts from 50 to 80 metres entirely under its own management, whether or not in cooperation with subcontractors. The yard in Vlissingen is therefore equipped in accordance with the latest standards and houses fully-fledged departments in the field of design, engineering, purchasing, work preparation, production and after-sales.
Today, Amels has a worldwide reputation of undisputed quality based on Dutch craftsmanship. With an average of 400 employees and an annual turnover of around EUR 90 million, it works on a magnificent order portfolio.
Amels is part of the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group, a group of 32 shipyards with branches in Poland, China, Romania and Singapore, among others. Within the group, a wide variety of ships are built from naval vessels, tugs, container ships to inland barges. Damen has an annual group turnover of around one and a half billion euros.
