Visit 380kV substation Rilland
To reinforce the current high-voltage connection with Belgium (interconnection), a new branch line will be built on the current 380kV high-voltage connection Borssele-Zandvliet-Geertruidenberg. This will be realised by means of a new high-voltage substation near Rilland.
This will create three 'separate' connections: Borssele-Rilland, Geertruidenberg-Rilland and Rilland-Zandvliet (Belgium) . The new 380kV substation will be built by Spie on behalf of Tennet. This is the first 'triple rail' substation to be built in the Netherlands. The advantage of such a substation is that the availability of electricity is higher than with a standard, double-rail substation.
If maintenance has to be carried out, you can switch off the part you need. Another part of the station then takes over the tasks, so the transmission of electricity is not otherwise affected.
The construction of this impressive piece of technology is on schedule for completion by the end of this year. We are delighted with Spie/Tennet's offer to visit the site and look forward to receiving your application by 20 October at the latest.
