In 2005, Jos Hugense, CEO of Meatless, as a member of a third generation of butchers, made a surprising choice to switch to vegetable-based production. He then proved to be way ahead of his time. The disadvantages of meat production for the environment are becoming increasingly clear. Meatless has developed into a successful and often award-winning supplier in an ever-growing market for vegetarian raw materials. In terms of taste and texture, these can compete with what we are used to with meat.
