On 19 October, there was another well-attended edition of the KIVI Innovation Drinks Twente, this time with the theme 'Circular Economy'. First up was a fascinating presentation by Laura Franco Garcia. Nestor Coronado Palma then spoke. His presentation can be downloaded via the link below. The drinks afterwards in the Grand Café were again very animated and there was a long discussion afterwards.

Description

Climate is an issue that scientists have been working on and drawing attention to for a long time, and which now seems to be increasingly becoming a topic of political concern. See also the Paris Agreement and the current cabinet negotiations. A hot topic therefore, also in the business world, because in order to bring about real change, everyone has to participate.

The circular economy, also KIVI's annual theme, is a component that, according to various scientists, is indispensable to achieve sustainability. An economy and society focused on reuse instead of pure consumption requires fundamentally different thinking and a new perspective on production, use and processing of products and services.

On Thursday 19 October during the KIVI Innovation Drinks Twente, Dr Laura Franco Garcia, assistant professor at the University of Twente, will elaborate on the concept of the circular economy and challenges in this transition.

Then Nestor Coronado Palma, New Business Development and former Sustainability Director at Philips, will give examples of successful implementations of this concept in practice.

Afterwards, drinks and snacks will be provided and there will be ample opportunity to chat with the speakers and other participants.
