On 18 February, Diederik Gommers gave an interesting lecture on the COVID-19 vaccine to over 650 participants.

From KIVI we look back very positively on the meeting. Unfortunately, due to the limited time, not all questions asked beforehand and via the chat were addressed. Nevertheless, we hope that everyone became a lot wiser about the vaccines that will put an end to the 1.5-metre collaboration. Diederik Gommers' introductory talk can be viewed via this link.

U-Today, UT's magazine, was also present and wrote a nice article about the lecture. Should you like it, you can read it via: https://www.utoday.nl/news/69514/in-nederland-heb-je-17-miljoen-virologen

We are also looking for candidates for the board of KIVI Students Twente!

KIVI Students Twente is a part-time board that is easy to combine with full-time study. We are looking for enthusiastic students who are interested in technological developments in our society. If you are interested in setting up this kind of event within a large network of engineers, please contact us at kivi@utwente.nl.

Finally, one last wise words from Diederik Gommers:

'To you young and very smart people, I want to say: think along! Get into discussions, set up pilots, do tests. I actually find the young people too passive and I don't recognise that. Get into action!'
