To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the University of Twente, KIVI Students Twente organised the Twente Science Quiz in cooperation with UT on 30 September 2016. This programme was part of the Twente Science Week, a week full of interesting events related to science.
The Twente Science Quiz was organised in the Grote Kerk in Enschede, a beautiful location in the centre of Enschede. With 200+ participants spread over four subjects, the most diverse questions were asked about science. Each subject was represented by a subject chairman: Micaela dos Ramos for the KIVI subject, Mirjam Bult for the University of Twente subject, Joost Olde Weghuis for the Eqib subject and Jeroen Hatenboer for the Municipality of Enschede subject. With support from the expert panel consisting of three prominent UT professors Juliette Walma van der Molen, Dave Blank and Alexander Brinkman, and experiments from Science on Tour, the participants and audience went home this evening with a lot of knowledge and inspiration.
The big winner was University of Twente subject led by Mirjam Bult followed by KIVI subject led by our director Micaela dos Ramos.
The presentation of the evening was in the hands of Valerio Zeno and Sascha Visser, and we also had a special guest, Aeryn Schoonen, known from Giel Beelen's morning programme on 3FM. Partly thanks to our partners and sponsors, it turned out to be a hugely enjoyable evening and we hope everyone went home with more interest in science and the engineering world.
We look back on this event with a big smile!
