Technology as an Engine of Transition

The Royal Institute of Engineers has 12,000 members who all carry a lot of knowledge. We will deploy this knowledge and expertise to provide the current societal challenges with realistic information on which society can make informed choices.

We have categorised these societal challenges into 4 cluster themes:

  1. Energy for Tomorrow
Techniek als Motor van de Transitie
  2. Smart healthy living
    Technology for People and Society
  3. From Footprint to Nature Power
    Technology for a Liveable Earth
  4. Peace & Security
    Technology for a Resilient World

Energy for tomorrow

The 'Energy for Tomorrow' Cluster is divided into four themes.

Would you like to participate and contribute to this theme? Then click on the button under the theme.

Renewable energy and heat

Renewable resources such as solar, wind, hydrogen and geothermal, combined with smart heat solutions and electrification for homes and industry.

Smart and sustainable energy infrastructure

Digitisation, storage, grid management and linkage to spatial planning and climate adaptation form the backbone of a future-proof energy system.

Energy and society

Behaviour, participation, energy poverty and education will determine how fair, inclusive and effective the energy transition ultimately becomes.

Circular and nature-inclusive construction

From bio-based materials to energy-efficient building processes, focusing on biodiversity, green roofs and building as a system accelerator.

If you believe there is a solution, you are more likely to actually find it.
