The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) is the professional association for all (aspiring) engineers in the Netherlands. KIVI engineers have very diverse backgrounds and a wealth of experience. Experience they are happy to share with students so that they can prepare themselves for professional practice.
Do you want to prepare for your future engineering career? Then book with your fellow students a Career Faster meet & greet with KIVI engineers. Experienced engineers will share their personal experiences of professional practice, you can ask questions and discuss options for your career choices. Afterwards, you can talk further about their and your motivations and considerations for your future in an individual interview with a KIVI engineering coach.
What does a Career Closer coaching event look like?
You or your team provide a location and choose whether the event takes place on a morning, afternoon or evening. KIVI will arrange for an experienced KIVI engineer with similar prior education to come to this location to talk about his or her career, the choices made and their consequences. Then, as a student, you can talk further one-on-one with a KIVI engineering coach where you can go deeper into your own ambitions and the steps you can take to realise these ambitions. The length of the conversation will depend on how many students sign up for the one-on-one.
The event will also include a brief explanation of KIVI membership and its benefits for students. Students pay only €30 a year for membership, including a free follow-up programme with a KIVI engineering coach.
Cost
The Career Builder is a free service from KIVI for students. We do ask you to communicate as a study association about the coaching event, for example through your newsletter, or on social media and tag us in it. The publicity is very valuable for KIVI because it allows us to continue to offer our services free or affordable for all (future) engineers.
