Eren Kartal – Turkish Ministry
Over the past six months, I have been on an internship in Turkey. Whilst there, I worked on various civil engineering projects for the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Turkey, where I got to know lots of new people and learnt a great deal from them. This work placement was very instructive for me, both technically and personally. I will take the knowledge and experience I have gained with me and hope to apply it in the future within the civil engineering sector in the Netherlands.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my colleagues and supervisors for their trust, guidance and excellent collaboration. I would also like to KIVI – Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers for the financial support provided by the Study and Travel Fund, which has helped to make this special international experience possible.
Now that my work placement is drawing to a close, I’m looking forward to the next step: after the summer holidays, I’ll be starting my minor!
