Last Wednesday, 1 April, the annual Honorary Members' Lunch was held at KIVI in The Hague. Traditionally, honorary members and honorary medal holders were invited to a morning programme, followed by a joint lunch.

The meeting was opened by Diana van den Heuvel, President of KIVI, who welcomed the attendees and introduced the programme. This was followed by a highly engaging lecture by Vice Admiral Jan-Willem Hartman, Commander of the Ministry of Defence’s Materiel and IT Command. During his presentation, he provided insight into the technological and logistical challenges of modern defence projects, as well as the role of innovation within COMMIT.

The morning offered ample opportunity for questions and discussion. Over coffee, tea and pastries, attendees connected, shared experiences, and exchanged stories and memories. The meeting concluded with lunch, during which attendees were able to catch up with fellow honorary members, medal holders, and KIVI Executive Board members in a relaxed atmosphere.

For KIVI, it remains a valuable tradition to bring together all honorary members and medal holders and to reflect on their contributions to the association.
