Last Saturday, 16 May 2026, a meeting took place between representatives of KIVI and the Finnish organisation Kunta TEK and TEK (its parent company). During this meeting, knowledge and experience was exchanged on the role of engineering associations in different European countries. Issues discussed included the agreements between the organisations, the position of engineers within labour negotiations and the mutual recognition of technical qualifications in Europe.

The Chartered Engineer programme, which is still less known in Finland, was also discussed. In addition, experiences were shared about working and living in different European countries and the role that professional associations can play in this regard.

After the substantive programme, there was an opportunity to speak to each other further informally at a joint dinner in Eindhoven. The meeting provided scope for valuable discussions and strengthening mutual ties between the organisations.
