On the 13th of May, the Hydraulic Engineering Symposium of 2022 will take place. The theme of the symposium is: THE HOUSING CRISIS and how hydraulic engineering can contribute to solve it

1 million new homes will have to be constructed in the Netherlands to keep up with the growing demand. We need new building land, but where do we get it? Land scarcity leading to the housing crisis requires creative solutions, solutions in which hydraulic engineering can help. Do we need to build a residential area in the Markermeer, extend our beaches by a few kilometers or will we be living on a floating city in the North Sea? On the 13th of May, The annual symposium of Het Waterbouwdispuut will touch on this topic!

The symposium will be hosted by Astrid Blom and Laura Stancanelli. The afternoon will be filled with major speakers (see the poster) and interesting discussions. Besides, there will be a business market. Therefore, this is the perfect event to learn more about the topic and to meet hydraulic companies.
