Due to stricter CO2 regulations, automotive manufacturers are forced to look at alternative powertrains, such as hybrid and electric drives.

This is often accompanied by the use of more expensive, lightweight materials. In response, WorldAutoSteel (a group of 17 steel companies supplying the automotive industry) created the FutureSteelVehicle project to show that steel is still the material of the future: it is strong, flexible, green and cheap. FutureSteelVehicle shows that you can use steel to build a lightweight structure around modern drive technologies.

During the talk, Marc Lambriks, product manager automotive at Tata Steel, will outline how this can be achieved and what is still needed to do so
