Green hydrogen from the North Sea (in conjunction with the North West region's New Year's reception)
Lecture by David Bartmann
Ahead of a pilot in the North Sea, a trial of green hydrogen production took place in Alkmaar in 2024. PosHYdon aims to produce green hydrogen on an operational gas platform in the Dutch North Sea. It will be the first time that three offshore energy systems are integrated and the hydrogen produced at sea is transported to land together with natural gas via the existing pipeline. This pilot is essential for the development of large-scale production of green hydrogen at sea and thus for the energy transition in the Netherlands and Northwest Europe. After this test period on land, the electrolyzer will be transferred offshore to the Q13a-A platform, 13 kilometres off the coast of Scheveningen.
The New Year reception of the North-West region will take place beforehand
