introduction IoT for industry and IT
Companies are increasingly using Internet of Things applications. Rittal is also capitalising on this. Companies that start with the IoT and focus on the IT component will sooner or later see IT and Industrial Environments (IE) converge.
That data is both the core and the Achilles heel of the IoT is well known. The IoT assumes that a lot of data is available and added. This data stream needs to be stored, processed and transported properly. Strictly speaking, by the way, the IoT is nothing new in that respect. That industry relies on data to adjust and optimise processes in the interim has been the practice for decades. What is different now is the volume of data and the shorter time intervals for adjustment. This is partly due to the massive deployment of sensors and the increase in computing power.
