Local renewable energy cooperatives.
Description
Climate change remains a major issue. Thus, the available amount of raw materials is finite. But how big is this problem really and what challenge does the transition to a sustainable energy supply pose?
During the lecture, the speaker will elaborate on developments in energy supply and how to achieve a sustainable energy supply. The big suppliers in particular cling to traditional supply, and can this be broken by initiative from below? In this light, local sustainable cooperatives can play a role, and what does this mean for the organisation of energy supply.
The NoordHollandse Energie Cooperatie was set up precisely to bring about the transition. This cooperative now has more than 700 members, but what is its distinctive role?
