New Year reception and 3D scanning lecture.
Description
One of Stemar Engineering's activities is high-tech 3D laser scanning.
About ten years ago 3D laser scanning started to emerge in the Netherlands. Currently, laser scanners are becoming more commonplace and are increasingly applied in various fields. With a 3D laser scanner, it is possible to measure an object, installation or environment in 3D. This makes it possible to map an installation quickly, accurately and completely.
Current scanners have a range of a few cm, for handheld scanners to 800 metres for geometric scanners. For industrial use, a range of up to 50 a 60 metres is often more than sufficient.
The basic output is a point cloud with an accuracy of about 2-5 mm. Performing multiple scans and connecting them together produces a complete scan.
During the presentation, we will first discuss scanners in general and then the application in an industrial environment on the basis of reference projects.
In addition, to give a good impression of the practice, Mark will conclude the evening by scanning an example using the scanner of Stemar Engineering.
Prior to the lecture is the New Year meeting of the Alkmaar region.
