Amsterdam High-Frequency Rail Programme in conjunction with New Year reception North-West Region
Lecture by Harold de Pater
The PHS-A (Programma Hoogfrequent Spoor Amsterdam) is a large-scale, 10-year modernisation of Amsterdam Central Station and the surrounding rail infrastructure. The main aim is to increase capacity for the growing number of passenger and freight trains and allow more trains on the tracks. The work includes widening platforms, modernising the monumental station building, constructing a large underground bicycle storage facility and replacing five railway bridges. The project, commissioned by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management as part of the national A2 (Amsterdam - Eindhoven) corridor, will remain operational in phases during construction. Completion of the project, including the implementation of a new electronic security system, is expected around 2032.
The presentation on this project will be given by Harold de Pater, Technical Project Leader at ProRail
Prior to this, the New Year reception of the North-West region will take place
