Description

Jan Willem de Vries, researcher at WUR Glasshouse Horticulture in Bleiswijk will tell us about glasshouse horticulture in the Netherlands, the problems involved and the solutions they are working on and finding. For example, the WUR in Bleiswijk is not only working on methods to better protect plants from pathogens, but also to purify drainage water, optimise the energy supply, tailor the light supply to the needs of a customer/plant, or gain energy for both the greenhouse itself and the Dutch energy grid.

The evening starts with gathering from 18.00, during which stories from the past month will be exchanged.
At 19.00, the speaker will start his story until 20.00. The circle focuses on social issues and technical aspects get limited attention. People from the Circle speak, but speakers from outside are also invited. Occasionally, there is no speaker and free topics are discussed.
At 20.00, dinner is served. Sometimes the speaker speaks during the meal.
The evening ends at 21.00.
