About Kring Drechtsteden

Where engineers come together for inspiration and connection

Our KIVI Kring Drechtsteden is a group of KIVI members who meet every month. Kring meetings focus on social and technical topics that are discussed. Besides being informative, the circle meeting is sociable. Engineers from the region talk about their own work experiences and make contacts, both socially and professionally.

Origin and composition

The KIVI Kring Drechtsteden was founded in May 2001. Most members live or work in Dordrecht and the surrounding area and thus come to the meeting directly after work. The members have very diverse study and work backgrounds. As a result, there are many different perspectives that make for interesting discussions.

Typical topics

One of the KIVI Circle members or an external speaker often leads the discussion. The topics tie in with current affairs or regional issues. Topics that have been discussed in the KIVI Kring Drechtsteden include:

  • The development of Randstad Rail
  • A future exploration of technology in healthcare.
  • Construction of offshore production platforms
  • Gas extraction by NAM
  • A guided tour at Lips
  • Security and the internet
  • Failure probability and risk analysis: what's the point and how and when to apply it.

Circle meetings

The KIVI Circle meets every third Monday of the month from 18:00 at Wantijpaviljoen restaurant, Wantijpark 1 in Dordrecht. The evening starts with drinks and at 19:00 we go to dinner. After the meal, the speaker will start his story and there will be further discussion on the topic. The aim is to finish around 21:30.

Join our friendly circle

In short, our circle offers a fun, interesting and easy way to get to know engineers in the region and keep abreast of engineering and society. To make it a little easier to get to know the members of the circle, we have created a face book. Are you interested in dropping by sometime ? Just ask:
