Kyoto and other fairy tales - the sequel! test
Description
The first Kyoto lecture to our circles, three years ago, had the clear, critical conclusion: "Most facts point to only a marginal impact of CO2 on the climate, and the IPCC's claims are far too poorly substantiated to spend hundreds of billions, blindly relying on them, to limit CO2 emissions."
Only in late 2009 did serious cracks in "The Big Right" of the IPCC and the climate alarmists also begin to appear in the public eye: leaked emails gave the world a staggering insight into 10 years of correspondence between the scientists behind the IPCC (so-called climategate), and the unmasking of many unsubstantiated or even deliberately lied claims in the latest IPCC report put the climate lobby in a very dubious light.
This coincided with the Copenhagen fiasco, which exposed the fact that, out of the whole world, only a handful of Western European countries were willing to spend any money at all on climate politics.
In addition, particularly in the Netherlands, very remarkable new insights have emerged in recent years about the actual workings of the climate and the greenhouse effect.
Enough reasons to dive deep into this fascinating subject once again!
The lecture will therefore focus on the core of climate science, but also on surprising facts behind the many stories that resonate through the climate debate, such as sea level rise, melting glaciers, extinct polar bears, mortality due to global warming, and the link between CO2 and climate in the past.
