When his mother-in-law died about eight years ago, Ap Niemantsverdriet and his wife were faced with the question of what to do with that farmhouse (built in the late 1950s with corresponding quality).

The final conclusion was demolition and construction of a life-proof house in modern style and corresponding energy insights (gasless, HR++ windows, good insulation; solar panels; heat pump; mechanical ventilation) of such a size that it could also accommodate a carer (i.e. two kitchens, two bathrooms and the necessary bedrooms).

He will present his design, the measures taken and the findings of the past four years on 13 September.

A subject that is very topical these days with gas prices ten times higher than a year ago.
