Energy transition in the Netherlands: How can sensible people / policymakers make such a disastrous choice?
Energy transition in the Netherlands: "How can sensible people / policymakers make such a disastrous choice?"
and... had engineers made a different choice in this case
In the presentation of the KIVI Kring Rotterdam in June, the speaker showed us in detail what the costs of the energy transition are as it has been initiated. If all the extra costs generated by the energy transition are allocated to 4-person households , with all energy consumption remaining the same, it will cost around €40,000 per household every year !
How can it be that very sensible and smart people have taken such crucial decisions that lead to a disastrous, unaffordable solution for the energy transition, which may therefore not even be feasible.
Has the energy transition been rammed through purely out of ideological motives? Was only part of the whole story told on purpose, or were the consequences not (properly) understood due to lack of knowledge?
In short, were the decisions deliberately made that way or is the human brain such that wrong decisions are almost inevitable?
Speaker
In this interesting presentation, Arie Quik takes us to the basics of thinking and decision-making in decision-making processes. Because he believes he gets to the heart of the problem, he also comes up with a potential solution direction, which has actually been 'on the shelf' for a long time (and is therefore 'proven technology').
Arie Quik was, until recently, secretary of the Risk Management and Engineering Department of KIVI. He studied physics at TU Delft, worked in business in the chemical process industry, was Head of Measurement and Control Technology, Electrical Installations, Automatic Analyzers for a number of years.
He started as an independent consultant and for many years guided international companies in their mission, vision, strategy and implementation to achieve their goals. Arie Quik was and is 'designer of solutions' and 'solution directions', and has been trying to get the verb pre-thinking into the 'van Dale' for years.
Programme and registration
As usual, drinks will start at 6pm and the meal will follow punctually at 7pm, after which the presentation can start at 8pm. End around 10pm.
