Description

The Delta Plan Water Safety (formerly the Flood Protection Programme) forms the largest implementation part of the Delta Programme with a scope of around 1,900 kilometres of primary flood defence systems and the task of ensuring the Netherlands meets the new flood protection standards by 2050. Water boards and national government have chosen a joint approach for this huge task, whereby financing, prioritisation, support and development of projects are carried out in alliance form. From an engineering perspective, the application of the new standards is central to this, but the dike is more than just a water barrier. The ambition is not only to realise the water safety task smarter and faster, but at the same time to create added value for the area. To this end, innovative techniques are developed, but we also link the water safety task to other tasks in time. Smart cooperation therefore, across the borders of organisations. In his presentation, Richard Jorissen will discuss the task, the working method, the challenges and the innovations that are on the agenda within the Delta Plan Flood Risk Management.

The drinks will start at 18:00 and the meal will follow promptly at 19:00.
