"How to replace fossil with nuclear, solar and wind; and what does it really cost?" "The technical interpretation of the energy system of the future, and its costs, for the Netherlands and for a family" "What is really happening and what are we being told"

What is a transition, and why does it ALL have to do with prosperity? What is the state of the Dutch transition, and when will it start? What is needed for the various energy sources to be able to replace fossil fuels, and what will it cost?

When calculating the scenarios, it will become clear that the system requirements and system costs are all-important! (Using the blackout in Spain on 28 April last as an example). This will show what nuclear power costs, compared to solar and wind, and what a Dutch family would spend on the transition to net zero in 2050.

As a bonus, Theo discusses what is really going to happen to our world energy supply in the next century! Many promote something great, but only consider part of the problem. In several scenarios, Theo is going to shed light on this for us.

Theo Wolters critically assesses the realism of the energy transition, paying extra attention to its effects on prosperity and the economy. He shows that net zero in 2050 is impossible, and that a transition to wind and solar is unaffordable at all. Indeed, a transition can only succeed if it is based on innovations that lead to large welfare gains. Thus, innovation is needed that produces an energy source that displaces fossil in a normal process because it is cleaner, more reliable and, above all, cheaper.

Drinks will start at 18:00 and the meal will follow punctually at 19:00, after which the lecture can start at 20:00. End around 22:00.
